Robert Half is supporting a global consulting firm in sourcing an experienced Broadcasting Network Engineer for a major broadcast and connectivity programme. This work sits within a strategic engineering function focused on delivering next-generation Audio/Video processing, multiplexing, and broadcast network services across legacy and cloud environments.
Assignment Details
* Initial Duration: 6 months (with potential extension) – start ASAP
* Location: Primarily remote – occasional on-site near Hampshire
* Day Rate: £400–£425 p/day via FCSA Accredited Umbrella Company
Role Overview
You’ll work closely with Broadcast Engineering, Network Engineering and Product teams to design, deploy, optimise and troubleshoot Audio & Video processing systems across broadcast and satellite networks. The role requires someone with a blend of broadcast engineering knowledge, multiplexing expertise, strong network fundamentals, and cloud/virtualisation awareness, able to support both legacy platforms and emerging cloud-based media workflows.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Broadcast Engineer, Audio/Video Engineer, or Network Engineer within broadcast or satellite communications
* Strong knowledge of encoding, multiplexing, transcoding and A/V processing technologies
* Hands-on experience installing, testing, analysing and optimising A/V processing equipment
* Understanding of IP-based broadcast delivery, contribution/distribution networks and integration with existing broadcast infrastructure
* Ability to engage with SMEs and technical teams to troubleshoot issues and drive improvements
* Experience supporting the integration of legacy broadcast systems with cloud or virtualised architectures
* Proficiency with diagnostic engineering tools and broadcast monitoring systems
* Awareness of AWS, Azure or Google Cloud environments advantageous
* Strong documentation, communication and stakeholder management skills
