Mission Description
Based in the UK, Safran Seats specializes in First Class and Business Class seating for wide-body aircraft, with teams in Cwmbran, Newport, and Brackley. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work within the industrialization department, responsible for developing and introducing new and updated products into production on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Participate in design reviews during each phase of new product introduction and suggest improvements.
2. Evaluate new product designs using 3D CAD models and mock-ups, log issues, and provide feedback.
3. Ensure development mock-ups are built on schedule, evaluate designs, log issues, and validate solutions.
4. Conduct make vs. buy analysis and identify opportunities for optimization, collaborating with purchasing and design teams.
5. Calculate production capacity requirements based on customer demand and determine tooling and space needs.
6. Estimate build times, required stations, and perform line balancing for new processes.
Candidate Requirements
* B.Eng. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering OR HND via apprenticeship.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing.
* Basic knowledge of design for manufacture and assembly principles.
* Familiarity with manufacturing processes and 3D CAD software.
* Ability to interpret 2D drawings.
