The Opportunity
We're recruiting an experienced Interim Finance Manager to step into a number-one on-site finance role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on assignment supporting the Site Managing Director and operational leadership team, with immediate responsibility for financial control, manufacturing reporting, and supporting integration into Group processes.
You'll need to hit the ground running and bring structure, clarity, and control to a production-driven setting.
What You'll Be Doing
Financial Reporting & Control
Deliver accurate monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
Lead month-end close including production cost capture, WIP and stock valuation.
Ensure alignment with Group reporting and consolidation standards.
Oversee inventory, cost of sales, and labour/overhead reconciliations.
Manufacturing & Operational Finance
Review and stabilise standard costing models and overhead absorption.
Analyse material usage, labour efficiency, scrap and yield variances.
Support operational teams with margin improvement and cost control initiatives.
Ensure stock integrity and support stock take processes.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with UK GAAP / FRS 102.
Strengthen internal controls around inventory and fixed assets.
Support audit requirements and statutory reporting packs.
Prepare VAT returns and assist with corporation tax packs as required.
Integration & Process Improvement
Support post-acquisition finance integration.
Align chart of accounts, reporting packs, and financial controls with Group standards.
Identify quick-win improvements to reporting quality and financial visibility.
What We're Looking For
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience with strong manufacturing background).
Must have proven experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
Strong understanding of standard costing, WIP, stock accounting and production variances.
Comfortable operating as the number-one finance lead on site.
Strong ERP and Excel capability.
Available to start immediately and commit to 3–5 months.
