Position: Technical Project Manager
Here at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, we currently have an opportunity for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our Estates team. The Estates Department provides the hospital with comprehensive, planned, reactive maintenance services, including Life Cycle and Project Work for electrical, mechanical, and building fabric.
The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for managing the timely delivery of engineering project works, including planning and delivering elements of the annual life cycle replacement programme, minor new works, capital works to an agreed value, interfacing with the SPV and the Board, and supporting the Life Cycle Manager in the effective operation of the Life Cycle Service.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
* Managing projects related to life cycle replacements, minor new works, and capital works, including coordination, programming, and financial control to meet strict deadlines and budgets.
* Preparing tender documentation and evaluating tender responses for Life Cycle, Minor New Works, and Capital Works.
* Providing reports on asset condition and necessary work to maintain hospital estates at designated standards.
* Conducting environmental and estate condition audits to identify asset conditions and future maintenance needs.
* Assisting in developing a 2-year forward lifecycle replacement plan, prioritising works and estimating costs on a rolling basis.
* Managing commissioning and collaboration with project consultants, architects, and engineers to form multidisciplinary teams.
* Carrying out authorised/responsible person duties relevant to the discipline.
* Providing technical and managerial support for the delivery of the Trust's capital works programme, including pre and post-design evaluation and on-site supervision.
Requirements for the role:
* A degree in a relevant subject with a professional qualification or equivalent experience.
* Experience in supervisory roles within mechanical engineering or project management.
* Knowledge of building services and M&E design requirements.
* Proficiency in project and financial management software tools.
* Experience with hospital building services is advantageous.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
* Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
* Problem-solving skills with a consistent approach.
* Organisational skills to manage own work and team activities.
* Flexible and adaptable to meet departmental needs.
