The Department of Computer Science is seeking to appoint enthusiastic individuals to join our dynamic and supportive team, contributing significantly to our research, teaching, and impact activities.
This is an opportunity to join one of the UK’s most successful Computer Science departments and be part of an exciting time of growth in the Department. We are looking for outstanding candidates, pursuing theoretical and/or experimental research, especially in the following areas:
* AI and ML Systems and Applications, AI Safety and Privacy, Computer Systems and Architectures
* AI Foundations, Theoretical Computer Science, Computer Security, Quantum Computing
Assistant Professors will be appointed for a probation period (usually five years). Successful completion of probation will coincide with promotion to Associate Professor. The department provides opportunities for advancement up to and including Professor level.
About You
You will hold a PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or a related subject by the start date of the post.
You will have an excellent academic record, with indicators such as impactful publications in peer-reviewed venues, significant software artefact design and implementation, and academic awards within the field of Computer Science.
You will have a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Applications will be considered on their merits for both Assistant and Associate Professor positions.
