We are looking for an Approved Driving Instructor to join our Mobility Centre team and play a key role in delivering services that make a real difference to the communities we serve. Disability Action Mobility Centre offers lessons, driving and passenger assessments, as well as expert advice on driving and vehicle adaptations for disabled and older individuals across 7 satellites sites throughout Northern Ireland. Inthisrole,youwillwork independentlytodeliverdrivinglessonsto people with a disability requiring an automatic vehicle (and varying adaptations if required) throughout Northern Ireland. We will also provide training to work alongside specialist driving assessors and occupational therapists (OT) to conduct driving and passenger assessments to provide expert support to clients, and contribute to the development of services and enhanced client experiences. TheresponsibilitiesfortheDrivingInstructorwillinclude: Conduct driving lessons throughout Northern Ireland in an automatic/adapted car. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times, adhering to GDPR and data protection standards in all communications and processes Provide clear advice and guidance to pupils demonstrating strongcommunicationandsupport toachieveatestpassor continuation of safe driving (for familiarization lessons). Supportpupilstolearnthetheoryaspectoflearningtodrive. Communicateeffectivelywithserviceusers,theirfamilies, health professionals, and support workers as required. Apply road safety expertise during lessons, ensuring individuals safety in various driving conditions Contributeactivelytostaffmeetingsandengageinongoing personal development to enhance skills and knowledge in driving assessments and related services Producereportsandmaintainworkingrecords,ensuring accuracy and up-to-date documentation UtiliseITtools,includingMSWord,toefficientlymanage records and create reports Showempathywithacaringapproachtowardsserviceusers and their families, understanding their unique needs Contributetothedevelopmentandimprovementofservicesin line with the needs of service users and stakeholders Performanyadditionaldutiesnecessarytofulfilthe requirements of the position Undertake training to conduct fitness to drive assessments in collaboration with clinicians and our assessors to evaluate the ability of individuals, especially those with health-related conditions or disabilities, to drive safely. Qualifications and Registration: DVA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) with a proven track record in driving instruction Skills and Competencies: Experienceorastrongwillingnesstoworkwithindividualswith disabilities or health-related conditions affecting their ability to drive.
