Job Description
SLR's Birmingham team provide transport planning advice to clients across a range of sectors, including residential, retail and logistics on a variety of projects. Due to continued expansion and our ability to win multiple large projects in the region, we have a fantastic opportunity for a senior transport planner to join our industry-leading team based out of our Birmingham office.
The role
Working with a close-knit team, you will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of transport assessments for various clients across the UK using detailed knowledge and experience of standard modelling packages and recognised transport appraisal techniques.
Duties will be varied but responsibilities will include:
• Management and delivery of projects in line with client expectations and SLR priorities
• Continued development of personal knowledge and keeping abreast of relevant technical, legal and policy changes
• Use of personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions
• Providing guidance on quality matters and technical issues
• Developing client relationships to ensure the securing of work

About you
We are looking for a transport planner with experience in a comparable consultancy or local authority environment, as well as:
• Relevant degree (or higher) level qualification
• Membership (or working towards) of a relevant professional body
• Proven project delivery capabilities
• Strong software modelling capabilities on relevant software packages ARCADY/PICADY/LINSIG
• A good knowledge of transportation planning aspects of the planning process
