Our growing restaurant is looking for an experienced Junior Sous Chef (a person with less experience would be considered for a passionate candidate) who is forward thinking and passionate. The George is located in the charming town of Kirton in Lindsey in Lincolnshire. Our pub, restaurant and rooms offer everything you would expect from a 17th century coaching inn. Because we are a small supportive team, we offer a great work life balance for somebody in this industry. Our establishment ensures our kitchen staff finish at a reasonable hour at night especially during the week. We offer a Sunday off every month also.
The ideal candidate will have:
· Experience in preparing and cooking fresh food
· Following food safety standards
* Experiments to come up with new specialties that will draw diners into the restaurant
* Keeps up with trends in cooking and the restaurant business to ensure that guests have a positive experience
* Works quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings
* Takes direction
* Cooks guests' orders according to their preferences
A person with less experience or an apprentice would be considered for a passionate candidate.
Onsite living is available either full time or part time.
This is a full-time position with rates of pay negotiable depending on experience.
