About the Role

Join to apply for the Graduate Treatment Process Engineering role at Severn Trent. At Severn Trent, we believe everyone deserves more – more care for the environment, more sustainable initiatives, and more support for the communities we serve. We are on a mission to deliver bigger and better things, and we need passionate graduates to help us achieve our goals.

Overview of the Graduate Programme

The Treatment Process Engineering Graduate Programme offers the perfect blend of personal and professional development, exposing you to the frontline and the core of our business. It will enable you to spend time in different areas of our treatment process engineering teams, learning how to evaluate and identify the best solutions that meet requirements and balance process reliability, risk, operability, carbon impact and cost in decision‑making.

A typical day could be in the office, on site, or a mix of both. You may work with groups that specialise in treatment design and commissioning for wastewater and clean water, carrying out on‑site tests, taking samples and interpreting results to progress live schemes.

Potential Placements

* Strategic Asset Planning: Align long‑term plans with short‑term requirements, design the parameters of our five‑year plan, and define rules for our in‑AMP Plans and Practice.
* Tactical Asset Planning: Act as the link between day‑to‑day operational issues and long‑term strategy.
* Treatment Process Engineering: Make correct system choices for capital solutions that fulfil the outcomes of our short‑ and long‑term asset management plans.
* Treatment Process Hub:
* One‑to‑one meetings with line managers, mentors, and the New Talent Team to discuss development and career ambitions.

What You Will Learn

* How to evaluate and identify the best process solution that meets our design requirements and is the optimum whole‑life solution.
* How to balance process reliability, risk, operability, carbon impact and cost in decision‑making.
* How to work with site teams to ensure commissioning activities are completed successfully.
* Explore innovative technologies and solutions.
* Understand the regulation that affects our business and long‑term planning.
* Gather and interpret vital data that can benefit our business.

What We Are Looking For

* A ‘can‑do’ attitude – willing to get stuck in, take accountability for decisions and take pride in your work.
* A love of variety and adaptability to a dynamic, fast‑paced working environment.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills; enjoy working with multiple teams.
* Ability to analyse and interpret information and effectively communicate to different audiences.
* Ability to travel freely across our patch and visit sites.
* Curiosity to learn quickly in a reactive and dynamic work environment.
