We are seeking skilled
Test Engineers
for an immediate start in Chertsey to support the development and testing of
VLF (Very Low Frequency)
communication products. The ideal candidates will be experienced test professionals with a background in electronics, or communications systems, and must hold
active SC clearance or have held it in the past.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute functional and system-level testing of VLF communication products.
* Develop and maintain test plans, procedures, and reports.
* Work closely with design and development teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues.
* Perform both manual and automated testing to validate performance and compliance.
* Assist in setting up and maintaining test environments, including RF test setups.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
* Provide clear and concise defect reports and assist in troubleshooting.
* Support integration, verification, and validation activities as needed.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Active SC Clearance
(mandatory – candidates without this will not be considered).
* Proven experience in a
test engineering
role, ideally in a
defence or secure communications
environment.
* Familiarity with
VLF / RF systems
and test methodologies.
* Strong understanding of
electronics, signal processing, or communication protocols
.
* Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, signal generators, etc.
* Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong documentation and communication abilities.
Desirable:
* Experience with automated testing tools or scripting (e.g. Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB).
* Background in military or secure communications systems.
* Knowledge of EMC, safety, or environmental testing standards.
