Vulnerable children in the UK need your help.
Wherever you work in the Action for Children family, you'll be helping to change the lives of the most vulnerable children in the UK.
Last year, we helped more than 670,000 children and families across the UK. From direct work in communities to national campaigning, we are focused on making sure every child has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.
Why Action for Children?
Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. It's the sense of purpose that drives us every single day. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children's lives.
A bit about the role
The role will mainly work for Dorset Nightstop, which provides emergency accommodation for young people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless. We have a fantastic newly created role for a care experienced candidate to join the Action for Children family. We're excited to welcome care experienced individuals to join our team to complete an apprenticeship with us.
Our apprenticeships provide an opportunity to gain workplace skills and experience in the one of the UK's largest children's charities, not only making a difference to the children and young people that we support, but to your team- all whilst also completing a Business Administration (level 3) qualification to further your education. To ensure a wide range of administrative opportunities, the successful candidate may also work with other services within our team.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
Do you have a passion for supporting young people and their families?
We are seeking a care experienced individual with good IT skills who can engage with our service users, while balancing study. You will support the Nightstop team with a variety of tasks including: inputting & monitoring data, being involved with young person participation, ensuring our leaflets/promotional materials/social marketing etc. include the views of young people.
Recruiting for Potential, Let's talk about you:
Care experienced employees bring a diverse insight, personal experience and transferable skills to a team as well as being amazing advocates and role models for the children, young people and the families we work with. We are committed to creating a safe space and a diverse culture where this knowledge and experience is welcomed and championed.
Apprenticeships are for all ages, so whether you've just left education, returning from a career break or looking for a new direction this could be the perfect opportunity!
At Action for Children, we define care experience as: People who have had previous personal experience of the care system for example they have been a child who was looked after, had a social worker, lived in a children's home or extended family members rather than birth parents.
Who can apply:
