Join our Team: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: MP Farlough

Working hours: Monday - Thursday 7.45-5.00 & Friday 7.45-12.30

The role of the Electrical Engineer is to serve new product development (NPD), drive continuous improvement and support the aftersales & commissioning teams of the Terex Washing Systems teams.

The Engineer will be responsible for design of 3 phase control systems, managing projects, ensuring targets & delivery dates are met, as well as providing technical expertise, interfacing with, and acting as the link between functions, and providing inter department communications.

What you’ll do

Engineering Design

1. Create accurate electrical schematics, bill of materials and technical documentation.
2. Create and test PLC & HMI software (Allen Bradley & IFM Systems).
3. Write Functional Specifications for software.
4. Ensure all project documentation & technical files are compiled and stored correctly.
5. Support Operations teams on improvement projects & focused improvements on Terex products.
6. Support product cost reduction and product reliability improvement efforts.
7. Directly contribute to and support continuous improvement in line with the business demand.
8. Occasionally perform equipment commissioning, installation, and testing both in Company and on-site.

Program Management

9. Support NPD (New Product Development) projects for Terex - ensuring projects needs are interpreted accurately.
10. Provide appropriate technical support on both existing products and NPD.

Standards, Health & Safety

11. Design products that comply with Company & industry standards & legislation with regards to machine safety.
12. Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are followed in accordance with company policies and in the creation of project risk analysis.

Customer Support

13. Support customers, helpdesk and service team with issues on-site in company and on-site

Qualifications:

14. Degree in an Electrical Engineering or Science discipline or equivalent qualification.
15. Technical expertise in designing 3 phase electrical control systems.
16. Familiarity with electrical automation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

17. Comprehensive knowledge in design of 3 phase electrical systems.
18. Project management and analytical skills.
19. Experience working in heavy equipment industry.
20. Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunction.
21. Experience working with Variable Frequency Drives and Soft Starters.
22. Experience in electrical control panel design e.g. Zuken E3 Series / ePlan desired.
23. Experience in design of 24Vdc control systems including EtherNet IP, CANbus, Modbus etc. networks.
24. Development of PLC Software advantageous.
25. Knowledge & understanding of Hydraulic systems desirable.
26. Independent and self-motivated individual.
27. Presentation and interpersonal skills.
28. Travel will be required.
