About the Role As a Social Worker within our Children with Disabilities Service, you will support children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including complex disabilities and medical conditions. In this rewarding frontline role, you will: Build strong, trusting relationships with children and their families Complete child-centred, strengths-based assessments Develop and review care and support plans that reflect each child’s voice and individual needs Work collaboratively with health, education, and multi-agency partners Support families to navigate challenges, access services, and build resilience Advocate for children to ensure they receive the right support at the right time This is a role where your work has a real, visible impact, helping children to live safer, fuller, and more meaningful lives. Our Approach We are implementing the Families First Partnership Programme, bringing together locality-based family help teams, safeguarding teams, and Multi-Agency Child Protection Teams (MACPT). Our practice is rooted in trauma-informed and systemic approaches, ensuring holistic and empathetic support for families. Social workers benefit from bespoke training, including: Trauma-informed practice Motivational interviewing Continuous professional development opportunities Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for Social Workers who are: Qualified and registered with Social Work England Experienced in working with children and families (experience in disability is welcomed but not essential – we will support your development) Confident in having honest, compassionate, and respectful conversations Able to manage a complex caseload and work collaboratively across services Reflective, resilient, and emotionally intelligent Most importantly, we want people who genuinely care — who see the child beyond the diagnosis, and who are patient, curious, and committed to making a difference.
