Main Responsibilities
* Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity.
* Assess and identify vulnerabilities, and work proactively to minimise risk.
* Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
* Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress.
* Complete colleague and contractor searches in line with customer policy.
* Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning.
* Provide detailed, legible incident reports to support the client and local authorities.
Location
Doncaster, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom
Hours & Shift Pattern
20 hours per week – Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 18:00‑22:00
Hourly Rate
£12.50 per hour
The Person
To be an effective Security Officer you must be a confident communicator, able to provide detailed verbal and written accounts of incidents. You should be welcoming, patient with customers, and manage conflict professionally.
Required Experience And Qualification
You must hold a valid SIA licence. Previous retail security experience is advantageous but not essential – full training will be provided. A 5‑year checkable work or educational background is required, and you must bring right‑to‑work documents and recent proof of address to your interview.
