This role must work a rotating 12-hour shift pattern, days and nights. Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am on a rota basis work life balance is acknowledged and practiced within the rota pattern.

Salary including shift allowance £40,000.00 £44,500.00 per annum plus annual bonus
Candidates must possess strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability with a proven track record of being able to diagnose and repair equipment and machinery timely and effectively.
Reporting to the Reliability and Facilities Manager, the Shift Technical Lead is expected to demonstrate leadership within the Factory team and will take ownership to ensure the effective running of the production lines, carrying out operational and technical problem solving of production performance issues. The Technical Operator will also act as the site duty manager when required and is a key decision maker on shift.
FMCG experience is ESSENTIAL
* Enable the efficient running of production lines and respond to any issues affecting KPIs, ensuring they are addressed and escalated in an appropriate manner.
* Carrying out mechanical maintenance and repair tasks to production line machinery.
* Carrying out electrical troubleshooting and repairs on equipment (related to authorisation level).
* Maintain own training plan to ensure knowledge is always up to date.
* Proactively developing technical abilities under the mentorship of senior technical staff on shift/days
· Using IT systems to ensure accurate records are kept of all operational issues and technical work carried out on the equipment.
· Monitor adherence to standards and ensure effective communication is maintained with the Area Manager.
· Work with senior technical staff to root cause longer term issues impacting line efficiency.
· Communication & liaison with other stakeholders of issues which will impact performance and amend plans accordingly
· Ownership of personal development & training needs
Act as site Duty Manager when required.
The Shift Technical Lead is expected to take ownership of the performance of the Factory and display leadership to solve problems affecting production, primarily:
· Short and Long term Technical, Operational and Quality issue resolution.
· Effective decision making as Technical Lead on site out of normal hours.
· Carrying out troubleshooting and repair work to plant equipment.
· Supporting operational requirements within a cell team to enable the Factory to run effectively.
· Communication and effective handover of daily reliability escalations.
Education and qualifications required -
Modern Apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications, which may include:
NVQ Diploma (or equivalent) in Mech/Elec Maintenance or other appropriate discipline,
Level 3 Technical Certification (BTEC Level 3 or equivalent) in Operations and Maintenance or other appropriate discipline
Suitable electrical experience or qualifications to carry out detailed fault finding on circuits up to 415v. - ESSENTIAL
Good educational standard with clear ability to understand and adhere to Standard operating procedures within a factory environment
Ability to apply knowledge and skills in a manufacturing environment
High degree of numeracy and literacy
Good level of manual dexterity and demonstrable ability to carry out practical tasks
Experience required -
