We're working with a respected contractor looking to bring in a Contract Assistant to support the delivery of painting and decorating works across social housing, commercial and maintenance projects. This is a full-time, permanent role with real career development – ideal for someone who wants a long-term future in contracts management, not just a stopgap.
🔧 The Role:
As a Contract Assistant, you’ll work closely with the Contracts Manager and wider delivery team to ensure painting projects run smoothly, safely, and to spec. You’ll be that vital link between site and management – with your trade knowledge and hands-on approach making a real difference.
Key responsibilities:

Supporting the delivery of internal and external painting works across multiple sites
*
Supervising small teams and subcontract painters when required
*
Snagging and quality checking works
*
Ordering materials and liaising with suppliers
*
Visiting sites across the Leicester and Midlands region
*
Reporting progress and issues to the Contracts Manager
*
Helping plan labour and resources
*
Ensuring H&S and site compliance

Time-served Painter & Decorator – NVQ/City & Guilds ideal
*
Confident supervising teams and managing small packages of work
*
Must hold a valid driving licence and be happy to travel locally
*
Reliable, practical, and great with people on site
*

Previous experience as a working foreman or supervisor? Even better.
