About the Role We’re looking for an API & AI Product Manager to help shape and deliver BrightLocal’s API and AI offerings, enabling both internal product teams and external customers to receive their BrightLocal insights where they need it most. This is a highly collaborative role, focused on turning platform capabilities into usable, scalable, and well-adopted solutions. You’ll work closely with Engineering, QA, Infrastructure, Partners, and other Product Managers to ensure our APIs and AI services are implemented effectively, are easy to work with, and support broader product goals. As a squad Product Manager, you will also contribute to discovery, prioritisation, and delivery, while being a go-to person for API- and AI-related questions across the business and from customers. This role will suit someone who enjoys working in technically complex areas, is comfortable partnering with specialists, and thrives on enabling others to build great products. What you’ll be doing API Product Management & Enablement Support the ongoing development and evolution of BrightLocal’s APIs, ensuring they meet the needs of both internal teams and external customers. Partner with Engineering to help define API requirements, standards, and best practices. Act as a point of contact for API-related queries from customers and internal stakeholders, supporting successful implementation and adoption. Help improve API documentation, onboarding flows, and guidance to reduce friction for developers and agencies. AI Implementation Strategy Support the scaling of BrightLocal’s AI capabilities, working closely with Engineering and external partners. Help define how the foundational AI functionality is implemented so that it can be utilised in our tools in a way that ensures consistency, quality, and clarity for users. Translate AI capabilities into clear product requirements, collaborating with other pms to support on what is technically feasible utilise their requirements to further build our AI capabilities. Embed monitoring, metrics, and auditing into our AI pipeline to support cost management and feature validation Develop a testing framework in partnership with our QA team to validate the scalability, reliability, and overall quality of our AI functionality Collaborate with Product, Design, and Customer-facing teams to ensure AI functionality is well understood and used effectively. Squad Contribution & Product Delivery Act as Product Manager within a squad to support discovery, delivery, and iteration. Contribute to backlog management, prioritisation, and outcome tracking. Balance delivery of squad-level work with broader platform and enablement needs. Cross-functional Collaboration & Support Work with other Product Managers to enable the reuse of our API and AI capabilities across multiple product areas. Support Customer Success, Support, and Sales teams by providing clarity on API and AI functionality and constraints. Feed learnings from customer and internal usage back into product improvements. Help improve overall product maturity around platform thinking and technical enablement. About You Experience & Skills Experience working as a Product Manager, ideally within a SaaS or B2B technology environment. Exposure to APIs, platforms, or technical products, with an understanding of how they’re built and used. Experience working with or around AI-enabled features (hands-on model building not required). Comfortable working with technical teams and translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and pragmatically. Organised, collaborative, and outcome-focused.
