An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinician to join us in the Tissue Viability service. This would be an ideal opportunity for a clinician with a passion for Tissue Viability who would like to broaden their knowledge and skills in a supportive and friendly team. The successful candidate will already possess wound care and tissue viability knowledge and understanding.
The Tissue Viability Nurses (TVN) sits within the Harm Free Care team in Bedfordshire hospitals. You will be working in a team of 4 TVNs with a cross site lead nurse. This position is based on the Luton site but there will be a requirement of working closely with and supporting the team on both sites.
The post holder is expected to work as an autonomous practitioner and effectively co-ordinate and deliver enhanced wound care within the field of tissue viability under the supervision of the Lead Nurse for Tissue Viability. To liaise in collaboration with other health professionals a comprehensive tissue viability service for Luton and Dunstable Hospital.
Disseminate specialist’s skills and knowledge through teaching sessions to patients, carers, nurses and managers, assisting and participating in formal study days when needed.
Responsible‑for
* To work as an autonomous practitioner and effectively co-ordinate and deliver enhanced wound care within the field of tissue viability under the supervision of the Lead Nurse for Tissue Viability.
* To demonstrate team working skills and be adaptable to change at short notice.
* To liaise in collaboration with other health professionals to provide a comprehensive tissue viability service for Luton and Dunstable Hospital.
* To manage a caseload of patients.
* To ensure that patients and their families are fully informed and supported.
* Disseminate specialist’s skills and knowledge through teaching sessions to patients, carers, nurses and managers, assisting and participating in formal study days when needed.
* In the absence of the Lead Nurse for Tissue Viability the post holder will assist in the smooth running of the tissue viability service and will provide clinical and managerial advice to nursing and support staff throughout the trust in matters relating.
