Our customer, a global law firm is looking for a Conflicts & Risk Management Lawyer for a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough analysis of conflict reports, prepare detailed written assessments, and support the identification, mitigation, or resolution of conflicts of interest in accordance with matter-specific requirements.
* Draft and review conflict waivers, engagement letters, and other related correspondence or memoranda.
* Perform comprehensive electronic research on legal issues, corporate affiliations, SEC filings, sanctions, public records, and other relevant data sources.
* Leverage internal systems and external databases to obtain and analyze information critical to the conflict review process.
* Coordinate the implementation of Ethical Walls as necessary to maintain confidentiality and compliance.
* Evaluate potential conflicts arising from lateral attorney hires and provide appropriate recommendations.
* Collaborate closely with the Director of Business Intake on matters related to client onboarding and conflicts management.
* Provide supplemental support to Conflict Specialists in executing conflict searches and related analyses, as needed.
* Participate in the assessment and adoption of new technologies to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the Business Intake function.
* Identify inconsistencies or anomalies within internal databases and offer informed guidance to resolve data integrity issues.
* Serve as a point of contact for inquiries regarding new business intake procedures and lateral hiring protocols.
* Assist internal stakeholders in interpreting and navigating conflicts of interest procedures and policies.
* Support the maintenance and regular updating of standard operating procedures within the Business Intake Group.
* Develop and implement contingency protocols for use during system outages or technological disruptions.
* Provide after-hours and weekend support as needed, with compensatory time off offered in return for such coverage.
