Days Moreton-on-Marsh Join Our Clients Team and Help Keep Their Operations Running Smoothly We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Purchasing Assistant to join our clients busy Finance team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring their purchasing processes run seamlessly — supporting departments across the business to maintain efficiency, accuracy and value for money. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you’ll help manage orders, invoices, supplier relationships and spending records that keep their operations performing at their best. What You’ll Do You’ll be the backbone of their purchasing operations, responsible for: * Raising and processing purchase orders in Sage Line 50 from approved requisitions or bills of materials (BOMs). * Matching delivery notes, orders, and invoices to ensure all details are accurate and up to date. * Liaising with suppliers to confirm pricing, delivery schedules and order details. * Negotiating and sourcing alternatives to secure the best prices and value. * Tracking orders, deliveries and credits — following up on outstanding items or returns. * Assisting with supplier performance monitoring, ensuring reliability, quality and responsiveness. * Supporting financial reporting by tracking departmental spending and providing data for analysis. * Maintaining supplier records and purchasing documentation, including O&M manuals and warranty information. * Collaborating with Stores and Finance to reconcile stock, process invoices and manage credits. What You’ll Bring We’re looking for someone with: * Experience using Sage Line 50 or similar accounting software. * A keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation. * Good communication skills with suppliers and colleagues across departments. * Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities. * Competence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook. * An understanding of purchasing, accounts payable and stock control processes. Experience with bills of materials (BOMs) or supplier performance tracking would be an advantage.
