Contek are working with a client in Dorset who are experts in customising and manufacturing special purpose products to the diverse needs of their customers; whether it be for the for the PCB, Micro-Machining, Dicing or High-Precision industries.
Their products are created and machined to sub-micron tolerances by skilled engineers, supported each step of the way by their quality department, before they are fully assembled, tested and shipped from their UK factory.
Job Title
CNC Setter Operator's x2 - Nights
* **Night Shift hours: Mon-Weds 5:00pm-5:00am Thurs 4:00pm-10pm (12 hours per shift, Thurs is 6 hours) Total hours 42 per week (38 hours standard + 4 hours OT)
* Night shift premium is 1.45

1 x CNC Turner - Setter/Operator Mazatrol

OVERALL PURPOSE
As an integral part of the production team, you will be responsible for the safe and effective Setting and Operation of a variety of machines to enable the manufacture of quality parts on time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Principal accountabilities
• To safely set and operate machines enabling the manufacture of components. You will work from standard operating procedures, drawings and process control documents, in accordance with production schedules and other agreed timescales.
• To help develop products and manufacturing procedures through the ongoing continuous improvement program.
• Share experience, knowledge and best practice
• Ensure that you raise to your team-leader in a timely manner any tooling/resources/materials and/or process issues that may impact on your principal accountabilities.
• Ensuring you raise any training and development needs to your direct supervisor to support your needs of the role.
• To carry out self-inspection and in-process checks

Know-how/ Experience/ Qualifications

• Experience of setting CNC machines is essential
• Ability to read Fanuc programs and alter offsets in line with part requirements
• Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment is essential
• An understanding of reading manufacturing drawings is essential
• Basic computer literacy for data entry
• NVQ Level 2 in Performing Manufacturing Operations or equivalent is desirable but not essential as full training can be given
• Experience of working to tight tolerances is desirable but not essential

Physical issues
• The post holder will be expected to visit other sites.
• There may be an occasional requirement to travel.
• The role does require the candidate to be standing for the majority of the shift and running multiple machines is expected
