Utopia Childcare is an innovative and new residential childcare company, prioritising the mental well-being of our colleagues and following a child-centred therapeutic approach to care. We are now recruiting for our BRAND-NEW 3-bed home based on the outskirts of Derby City Centre. The home is a large premium standard property, perfect for creating positive memories with our young people The children and young people that we care for are aged between 6 and 13 years of age and may present with complex needs and distressed behaviours.
Your role as a Deputy Manager will involve being a positive role model, building positive relationships with the young people, leading and managing shifts, as well as providing support and guidance for Residential Support Workers and Senior Residential Support Workers. You will support the Registered Manager of the home with ensuring that all care related paperwork is up to date and completed to the highest of standards. This structure may vary depending on the needs of the home. Within your leadership role you will be ensuring that risk assessments, policies and procedures and placement plans are followed by all staff members on a day-to-day basis.
To be considered for this role, you will need a minimum of 3 years experience in a role within a residential childcare setting. You will also need a minimum of 2 years' experience of supervising and managing staff and a completed Diploma Level 4 qualification in Residential Childcare. In return we can offer a comprehensive progression plan, including enrolment on to your Diploma Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management. Once this qualification has been completed, we would look to discuss the prospect of progressing you further to be a Registered Manager of your own home.
What Will I Do as a Deputy Manager?
* Develop positive relationships with the young people that we care for, acting as a role model and supporting them to achieve their best possible outcomes
* Offer guidance and support to Residential Support Workers and Senior Residential Support Workers
* Safeguarding our young people from harm or abuse, whilst also ensuring that we follow a therapeutic approach to care, respecting and listening to the views, wishes and feelings of the child.
* Continually learning and developing your own knowledge through on-going training and working alongside your manager in creating a work development plan.
* Completing your Diploma Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management.
* Leading and managing shifts, supporting Residential Support Workers and Senior Residential Support Workers in their day-to-day duties, planning and co-ordinating the shift to ensure that young people are punctual at attending any appointments or events.
* Ensuring that the risk assessments, polices and procedures and placement plans are followed on a day-to-day basis.
* Providing support to the Registered Manager, by keeping all care related paperwork up to date and completed to the highest of standards.

Further Information:
You must have a valid driving license, with at least 12 months driving experience and less than six points.
