Environment Agency – Economic Crime Unit Manager
The Environment Agency is seeking a Manager to lead our Economic Crime Unit (ECU), part of the National Environmental Crime Unit (NECU). The successful candidate will lead a specialist team dedicated to removing the financial benefit from criminals.
Key responsibilities
* Strategic lead for financial investigations, ensuring compliance with the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
* Manage two Team Leaders (Asset Denial and Money Laundering Investigation teams) and a Senior Financial Intelligence Officer.
* Provide strong leadership, motivation and performance management for the team.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Investigatory Teams, Intelligence & Partnerships, Legal) and external partners (Police, National Crime Agency, HMRC) at a senior level.
* Support the wider organisation in improving work practices and increasing POCA understanding.
Experience and skills
* Exceptional leadership skills, ideally with experience leading a dispersed team.
* Good understanding of financial investigations and POCA.
* Experience working in the law enforcement sector and understanding of the National Intelligence Model.
* Excellent communication, feedback delivery, performance management and stakeholder relationship building.
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise a varied workload and identify areas for improvement.
* Experience developing and enhancing team capability.

* Provide an example of a complex staff issue you dealt with to improve performance.
* Provide an example of a piece of work you led where you overcame challenges to achieve an outcome utilising support from partner agencies.
