Job Description
1. Travel to customer's facilities as needed to manage onsite efforts and participate in the initial installation of systems, maintenance, debugging, and service. Same-day travel may be required .
2. Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to repair equipment by utilizing knowledge of electronics, standard test instruments, and critical thinking.
3. Train with lead engineers to learn the detailed design and behavior of new and existing client systems.
4. Respond to requests for technical assistance and resolve issues remotely by phone, email, and remote dial-in.
5. Serve as a customer-facing technical resource and works in collaboration with engineers and other senior staff as needed to provide effective end-user support and issue resolution.
6. Use system analysis techniques to respond to complex system issues for end-users.
7. Identify problems and coordinate appropriate corrective action.
8. Handle service tickets in order of escalation set by management.
9. Log all support desk interactions in the ticket system.
10. Learn to appropriately involve process development and system engineers as needed to effectively troubleshoot and correct issues in the field.
11. Create thorough and systematic reports on all service activity for internal and customer use.
12. Learn to operate all new equipment and assists with testing before shipping.
13. Effectively apply root cause analysis to identify repeat failure modes and report to engineering with findings.
14. May provide support coverage via on-call rotation schedule as needed.
15. Assist in maintaining the clients spare parts inventory.
16. Perform preventative maintenance on customer equipment.
17. Identify opportunities for added value sales while performing service and maintenance work, and present them to Service and Spare Parts Manager.
18. Work with customers to ensure that their needs are understood and met.

The Successful Applicant
19. Assist with design and assembly of mechanical systems, including motion systems, part tooling, and machine structural components.
20. Assemble and troubleshoot mechanically static and dynamic components with the use of reference solid models.
21. Assist with design and assembly of electrical panels and enclosures, including component selection, layout, mounting components, wiring, etc. according to a prepared electrical schematic.
22. Troubleshoot and provide feedback on electrical scehmatic revisions during system development
23. Fabricate simple components or modify components using standard machine shop tools (lathe, knee mill, surface grinder, etc.)
24. Work with electrical mechanical and software design engineers to help debug interactions between mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
25. Assist design engineers in creating, modifying, testing, and debugging control software for equipment in Visual, ladder logic, or other languages.
26. Assist in specifying, assembling, and documenting pneumatic and hydraulic actuators and control systems to meet the needs of the system.
27. Assist in specifying purchased components, including vendors and part numbers, with consideration to price, availability, and functionality.
28. Assist in preparing clear and accurate documentation to describe the design, operation, maintenance, and repair of systems.
29. Report on progress to management.
30. Maintain a clean and well-organized work environment
31. Travel to vendors and industry conferences as needed for information, training, and product demonstrations.
What's on Offer
Education/Experience:
32. Associates Degree in a technical discipline such as mechanical, electrical/electronics, software, robotics or a related field, or an equal combination of education and experience. (Bachelors is preferred)
33. Two to three years of experience in mechanical or electrical assembly, and/or experience with industrial equipment, maintenance.
34. Solidworks (3D Modeling, Drawings, PDM, Simulation preferred)and CAM software is a plus
35. Programming Software(TIAPortal, RSLogix 5000, etc)
36. Electrical Schematic Software (SolidWorks Electrical is preffered)
Specialized Equipment Knowledge:
37. Machine Shop tools: Knee Mill, engine lathe, surface grinder, belt grinder, etc.
38. Manual, Electric, and Pneumatic hand tools: Die Grinder, drill, files, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
39. Precision measurement tools: Calipers, height stand, dial indicator, micrometer, etc.
40. Electrical fabrication equipment: Soldering iron, crimping tools, Panel fabrication, etc.
41. Familiarity with lasers and optics a plus
