Tynecastle High School is a six-year comprehensive secondary school serving west-central Edinburgh for over 100 years. The school moved to a new site in January 2010 and offers excellent educational facilities. It is deeply rooted in its local communities, drawing students from Balgreen, Craiglockhart, Dalry, and Stenhouse Primary Schools.
The school currently has around 850 students. It offers a wide range of subjects and successfully prepares students for SQA exams at all levels. There is a strong sense of pride among students, staff, and parents.
The school employs a variety of strategies to support the integration of pupils with diverse needs and abilities. It has a strong record in supporting students into the workforce and into university courses across the UK. Staff know their students well, prioritizing pastoral care and student welfare.
