About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join Croydon Health Services' Integrated Neuro Therapy Team. This community-based service provides specialist neuro-rehabilitation for patients with neurological conditions, enabling them to achieve maximum independence and quality of life.
The role involves working in various settings including clinics, patients homes, and the wider community, with clinical supervision from a Band 7 Occupational Therapist.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of patients with complex neurological needs
Provide holistic OT assessments covering physical, cognitive, sensory, and environmental needs
Develop and implement individualised, patient-centred rehabilitation plans
Assess and provide appropriate equipment, adaptations, and orthotics
Deliver interventions to improve independence in ADLs and community participation
Liaise with families, carers, and multidisciplinary professionals to support care delivery
Contribute to student supervision, support workers, and junior staff development
Ensure all documentation and record-keeping meet HCPC and Trust standards
Essential Criteria:
HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
Minimum of 18 months post-qualification experience (including experience in neurological rehab)
Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk assessment, and outcome measures
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent time management and communication skills
Ability to assess for and provide minor equipment and environmental adaptations
Car driver with access to a vehicle for community visits
Desirable:
Prior experience in community or adult neuro-rehabilitation
Membership of BAOT or a relevant clinical interest group
Experience supervising support workers, students, or junior staff
