Are you ready to start or grow your career supporting children with additional needs? A friendly primary school in Chelmsford is looking for enthusiastic entry-level Learning Support Assistants, Teaching Assistants, Care Assistants, or SEND Support Workers to join their SEN provision team.
While this is an entry-level role, we are looking for candidates who have experience in care, youth work, healthcare, or similar support roles. Your transferable skills, empathy, and passion for helping children are just as important as formal school experience.
This role offers the chance to make a real difference, supporting children with special educational needs in their learning, social development, and daily routines.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 or small group support for children with SEN.
Assist with classroom activities, ensuring children can engage with learning.
Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development.
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, and other staff to implement individual support plans.
Help maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive environment.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in a care, youth work, healthcare, or similar role.
A patient, friendly, and adaptable approach.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Motivation to learn and develop within an educational setting.
