Development Officer role at Birkbeck Sport Business Centre – lead Birkbeck’s philanthropic relationships for the coming year.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with alumni, businesses, trusts and foundations to support Birkbeck’s fundraising priorities.
* Manage a blended portfolio of approximately 100‑120 prospects, building new relationships and maintaining existing partnerships.
* Secure four‑to‑five figure philanthropic gifts to advance the University’s fundraising targets and future ambitions.
* Collaborate with the Senior Philanthropy Lead, Head of Mid‑Level Giving and the wider philanthropy team.
* Help raise £4‑5 m a year for Birkbeck in the coming years.
Qualifications
* Significant track record in fundraising or relationship management, with proven success in achieving financial targets.
* Experience with Raisers Edge or a comparable fundraising system.
* Background as a Philanthropy Officer, Fundraising Officer, Fundraising Manager, Development Officer, or Development Manager.
Contract & Benefits
Permanent, full‑time, 35‑hour week (hybrid working). Salary £38,981 rising to £44,247 per year (Grade 6, London Pay Scale). Benefits include a competitive pension scheme, 31 days paid leave, flexible working arrangements, and generous sector‑wide benefits.
