This long-term position involves teaching Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 teaching, depending on the candidate’s experience. We welcome applicants with a passion for Geography and a strong desire to inspire students to understand the world around them.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in Geography across KS3 and KS4, with potential involvement in KS5
* Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
* Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement
* Prepare students for GCSE exams with focused teaching, revision, and exam preparation sessions
* Contribute to the development and planning of the Geography curriculum within the department
* Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement
* Uphold and implement the school's behaviour policies to maintain effective classroom management
* Contribute to extracurricular activities, field trips, and departmental initiatives
* Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to ensure student success and well-being
Qualifications
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent overseas teaching qualification
* Degree in Geography or a closely related field
* Proven experience teaching Geography at the secondary level
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography education
* Excellent communication skills and effective classroom leadership
* Ability to differentiate lessons for a wide range of abilities and needs
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
* Enhanced DBS check
