About the Role
As our HSE Officer, you’ll champion health, safety, and environmental excellence across our site ensuring every process, product, and person operates safely, sustainably, and in full compliance.
You’ll play a key role in embedding a proactive safety culture, managing compliance frameworks, and supporting our journey to make circular manufacturing both safe and scalable.
This role is ideal for an experienced HSE professional within manufacturing or someone ready to take the next step in a forward-thinking, purpose-driven environment.
What You’ll Do
Risk & Compliance
* Lead risk assessments, inspections, and corrective action planning across all operations.
* Manage and maintain HSE policies and systems aligned to ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
* Ensure compliance with UK legislation and liaise with regulatory authorities.
Incident Management
* Oversee investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
* Identify root causes and drive preventative solutions to continuously improve safety performance.
Training & Culture
* Deliver engaging HSE inductions and ongoing training to employees and contractors.
* Promote a “safety-first” mindset through toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and leadership visibility.
Environmental Leadership
* Support Gen Phoenix’s environmental initiatives from waste management and pollution control to sustainability projects that reduce our footprint.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
* Maintain detailed records, analyse trends, and report on HSE performance to management.
* Use data to drive decisions, improve culture, and reduce risk.
What You’ll Bring
* Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline.
* NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (training support available if required).
* Ideally, membership of a professional body such as IOSH.
* Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong communication and influencing skills able to engage colleagues at all levels.
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
