Location: This role could be based in our Edinburgh, Birmingham, Telford or London office with time spent working in the office and at home.

We’re currently recruiting for a Performance Analyst to join our External Performance and Analysis Team.
As a Performance Analyst you will support delivery of timely and high-quality reporting to the Board Renumeration Committee aligned to agreed internal targets and scorecards. Coordinate business unit and function scorecard submissions while ensuring robust challenge and adding valuable analysis and insights.
You will play an important role in supporting the Year End and Half Year announcements by producing insightful investor presentations, results packs and Q&A responses. A key element of your role will be collaborating with other Finance teams to identify key messages and potential areas of challenge for results announcements. You will also carry out regular peer and market analysis and feed that into the strategy discussions and financial framework for the organisation.
The role
1. Maintain regular peer benchmarking of KPIs
2. Prepare competitor and industry reports to inform Group CEO, Group and LifeCo CFO’s, IR, and strategy
3. Provide decision support / modelling as required to support external narrative
4. Support ad hoc strategy and Board requests with external data
5. Support preparation of investor presentations, results packs, and Q&A
6. Provide peer and market data for IR narratives
7. Anticipate investor/analyst questions with robust analysis
8. Work with CFO/IR to ensure external messages align with internal insight
9. Support coordination and consolidation scorecards across the organisation and provide suggestions and recommendations to the REMCO for Annual Incentive Planning and Long Term Incentive Planning.
What are we looking for?
We’re seeking a commercially minded finance professional with a strong background in FP&A or commercial finance. You’ll bring sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with excellent communication and presentation abilities that allow you to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for external audiences.
You have a meticulous eye for detail and accuracy, and can confidently synthesise financial information to support strategic decision-making. Your ability to navigate shifting priorities and deadlines, while managing stakeholders across all levels of the organisation, makes you an effective and collaborative partner.
Essential
10. Proven experience in FP&A or commercial finance
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
12. Excellent communication and presentation skills
13. ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
Desirable
14. A strong awareness of external market dynamics is highly desirable, as is the ability to apply this insight to financial planning and performance analysis.
