Location: EH10 5EG, Edinburgh
Salary: £15.60 per hour
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm with occasional weekends – flexibility is a must.


Key Responsibilities

* Documenting each morning what the Head Chef or site manager requires before they prepare the day’s dishes
* Cleaning and organising the food preparation area for the Head Chef
* Ordering and receiving orders when required
* Ensuring the kitchen team prepares the dishes according to site specifications and standards
* Managing a team of 10 to 12 chefs and kitchen assistants
* Covering up to 1,000 pupils and staff a day
* Training new and current team on the restaurant’s standards and regulations
* Ensuring the kitchen is ready for any external and internal audits
* Addressing complaints quickly and reporting them back
* Monitoring the kitchen area and staff to ensure sanitation standards are maintained
* Checking that all food products are not expired, verifying daily dates and complying with the Food Standards Agency
* Covering the Head Chef in his absence
* Communicating with relevant parties to plan menus and order necessary ingredients


Ideal Candidate

* Passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service
* Experience in a restaurant or catering environment (highly desirable)
* Proven experience supervising a team
* Experience in a similar chef role
* Holder of a Food Hygiene certificate
* Flexible approach to working hours
