The Role
As Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be the mechanical design lead responsible for transitioning a high-functioning prototype into a commercially scalable medical device. You’ll be joining a compact, high-calibre engineering team with the opportunity to shape the product and your own growth trajectory.
Your Core Responsibilities:
* Lead mechanical design of the commercial surgical system
* Act as the main point of contact with contract manufacturers and suppliers
* Contribute to manufacturing and assembly process development
* Support verification testing and inspection activities
* Participate in quality control, documentation, and design reviews
Essential Skills & Experience
* 3–6 years mechanical engineering experience (preferably in highly regulated sectors)
* CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred, but not essential)
* Strong grasp of Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly
* Familiarity with: Injection moulding, CNC milling & turning and Assembly processes
* Familiarity with: Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
* Exposure to ISO 13485 or other Quality Management System standards
Desirable Extras
* Experience in robotics or mechatronics
* Exposure to medical device development or other highly regulated industries
* Familiarity with standards: ISO 14971 or ISO 62366
* Experience with inspection and verification testing
