TheRole
TheStreetcareOperativewillsupportdailycleansingoperationsacrosstheborough,contributingtothedeliveryofacleanandsafeenvironment.WorkingaspartoftheStreetcareteam,youwillcarryoutarangeofmanualandoperationaltasksincludinglitterpicking,binemptying,weedremoval,fly-tipclearance,andgeneralstreetcleansing.Therolerequirestheabilitytodriveandoperatemechanicalequipmentasdirected.

Carryoutdailycleansingdutiesincludinglitterpicking,binemptying,brushandshovelwork,andwasteclearance.
Operatemechanicalequipmentsuchasleafblowers,pedestriansweepers,andweed-rippingtools.
Erectandremovetrafficmanagementequipmentwhererequired.
Reportstreetscenedefectssuchasgraffiti,fly-tipping,damagedsigns,andvegetationissues.
Assistwithweedspraying,removalofillegalsigns,andgeneralenvironmentalmaintenance.
Supportadverseweatheroperationsincludingsandbagfilling,snowclearance,andgritting.
Removesmalldeadanimalsinlinewithserviceprocedures.
Workflexiblyacrossteamstocoverabsencesormeetserviceneeds.
Followallhealthandsafetyproceduresandundertakerequiredtraining.
Representthecouncilprofessionallyandmaintainapositiveimageoftheservice.
