The Coed-y-Mwstwr hotel is a charming Victorian mansion set in Bridgend in a leafy, wooded hillside with far-reaching view across the rolling pastures of the Vale of Glamorgan. Step inside and a warm, Welsh welcome awaits our guests, with the odd dog or two for company. Our name means 'whispering trees', and our guests are awakened with the gentle sounds of the forest. We're in a great spot for exploring the town, countryside and the Glamorgan Heritage coast, or our guests can just stay put, with a roaring fire, a few cocktails, imaginative modern Welsh cuisine, or an afternoon tea with friends in our wonderful home.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Maestro: We're seeking a passionate individual who will help us create and deliver exceptional customer experiences through the food we serve. We welcome ideas to constantly improve, driving the food reputation forward and working under our Head Chef and Sous / Junior Sous Chef team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Team Player: Be a key part of our team who support our food creation experience. Team working is key to our success, supporting our vision of turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. Imagine your family ate here, how would you want them to be served…. That's the craft we want all our team to embrace. You will support our food creation kitchen team in delivering outstanding food for our guests.

Leaner Extraordinaire: `Learn your craft along the way. Our brilliant Chef's will support your learning and help you with the skills you need. If you would like to complete further qualifications, we can support that too, in fact, we actively encourage it. Your development is important to us.

Requirements:

* Experience / Accreditation: Desirable - NVQ Level 2 qualification in Professional Cookery. A track record of operational planning and consistent delivery of SOPs, including management and delivery of statutory COSHH, Health and Safety and food hygiene compliance and regulatory tasks.
* Passionate Personality: Perfect for creating positive guest experiences and cherished memories.
* Team Catalyst: The ability to work well within a passionate kitchen team
* Development: A desire to be the best you can be in your role as a Chef: If you have a desire to become a great chef, then this could be for you. We will develop your chef skills to help you be the best you can be.
