What you will enjoy doing
1. You will join a skilled engineering team supporting operations across Port Talbot, Newport, Cardiff and Trostre
2. Also you will provide Electrical and Instrumentation expertise for the Port Talbot plant
3. You will supervise personnel in line with Permit to Work requirements and actively contribute to SHEQ goals
4. You will be influential in the planning and coordinating maintenance of activities across all sites to meet company and industry standards
5. You will manage plant operations in a multidisciplinary capacity to meet customer demands and budget targets
6. Also you will monitor plant reliability and performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
7. You will maintain liquid and gaseous supplies to merchant and pipeline customers within contractual conditions
8. Furthermore you will inspect plant equipment regularly, diagnose faults and support corrective actions
9. You will start up and shut down plant equipment as needed
10. Also you will prepare plant for maintenance by executing isolations and conducting gas analysis
11. You will operate independently for most routine and some non-routine tasks
12. Lastly you will select and supervise competent contractors to ensure safe and effective maintenance delivery

What makes you great

13. You will hold a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Instrument, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
14. Also you will ideally have an HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
15. You will bring more than five years of practical experience in a technical role
16. Furthermore you will be familiar with hazardous environments, with CompEx Level 1–4 certification preferred (training available)
17. You will be willing to respond to emergencies and operational needs outside normal working hours, including 24-hour callout coverage
18. Also you will demonstrate a strong understanding of industry standards and statutory codes of practice
19. You will apply detailed knowledge of Permit to Work procedures in daily operations
20. Furthermore you will have a solid grasp of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
21. You will operate chemical and process plant equipment confidently and safely
22. Lastly you will consistently deliver high-quality customer service, even under pressure
