An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join a busy and collaborative finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role supports the end-to-end processing of monthly payroll across multiple international regions, reporting directly to the Deputy Payroll Team Leader.
As the organisation continues to expand and consolidate its payroll operations, this role will play a key part in ensuring accurate and efficient payroll delivery while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
You will contribute to the success of the payroll team by supporting a range of activities, including:
* Processing starters and leavers
* Managing one-off payments, season ticket and bicycle loans
* Checking and verifying payroll changes
* Handling tax uploads
* Recording and monitoring sickness absence
* Processing statutory absences, including maternity, paternity, and shared parental leave
* Supporting international payroll processing
* Preparing reports and performing payroll reconciliations
* Conducting data cleansing and third-party payments
* Assisting with correspondence and providing excellent customer service
* Supporting ad-hoc tasks and projects as required
Requirements
* Strong payroll processing experience
* Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
* Experience or understanding of working within a Shared Service Centre environment
* Good knowledge of payroll legislation and standard payroll processes
* Ability to create and review procedures effectively
* Proven experience in process improvement and identifying efficiency opportunities
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
