Rail Trainer / Assessor – City & Guilds Training
Overview
Role type: permanent. Location: HMP Highpoint South, Stradishall, Newmarket CB8 9YG. This is a prison environment role with training delivered to learners based in HMP Highpoint South and potentially other centres. You will be involved in embedding learning and skills development across the prison estate and supporting a programme to develop skills by removing barriers for prisoners seeking opportunities in the workplace.
Responsibilities
* Provide induction, initial assessment, and guidance to learners enrolled on Intertrain (UK) Ltd training courses and programmes.
* Assess learners’ progress and maintain accurate records of assessments, learner journey, achievements and feedback.
* Deliver safety critical and vocational training as required, including sentinel safety critical training (PTS, DCCR, OLEC1, SMALL PLANT, TIC) or experience in NVQ/apprenticeship delivery.
* Ensure training is delivered effectively inside the prison environment and that learners are supported throughout their learning journey.
* Participate in training, induction, and ongoing development to stay confident in the role.
Qualifications and experience
* Level 3 training and development qualification or equivalent.
* NSAR Assured Trainer/Assessor.
* Full driving licence; ability to travel; computer literate; good communication skills.
* Willingness to work for a national organisation and travel within a region in the UK.
