Full time — Fixed Term contract up to July 2027

UK travel may be required. This role is also open as an internal secondment opportunity, which would need approval from your current line manager.
Salary range: £33,002 to £35,608 with potential progression once in post to £39,906.

Role Summary
This role supports the quality assurance of education provision for all students in the College, ensuring that internal and external standards are met. The primary focus is on clinical education monitoring visits and the student evaluation process.
The position reports to the Head of Ops (QA). The maternity cover runs from July 2026 until July 2027.
Main Duties
* Understand student opinion to inform the enhancement of education provision, delivered both on and off the Edgbaston campus, through the operation of the College’s student evaluation processes, including evaluation of NHS placements.
* Deliver the programme of Clinical Education Monitoring visits, preparing visit paperwork, managing the visits and writing the confirmed report of the visits, ensuring relevant issues are identified and summarised to provide assurance that standards have been achieved and risks properly identified.
* Facilitate and support QA committees to foster an interactive community of academic and professional services staff that is inclusive and supportive, providing robust governance in relation to quality assurance and maintenance of standards.
* Communicate and act as a conduit to academic and professional services staff, ensuring everyone is well‑informed regarding quality assurance requirements.
* Contribute to the School or College plan, ensuring that quality assurance is a prime consideration underpinning plans.
* Promote equality and values diversity, acting as a role model and fostering an inclusive working culture.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience
* Qualified to UK level 5 (e.g. Foundation degree, HND) or equivalent.
* Relevant experience of working in Higher Education.
* Understanding of the institutional structures and ways of working in a College or School.
* Strong understanding of quality assurance processes.
* Knowledge of student evaluation processes.
* Experience of servicing committees or reviews.
* Experience of communications.
* Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office software.
* Knowledge of the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010 and ability to actively ensure that those with protected characteristics are treated equally and fairly in day‑to‑day activity.
Dimensions
This role does not directly manage others and does not own a budget.
Planning and Organising
The role requires operation of the visit process, working with other members of the CMH QA team to plan and organise around 25 visits per year, and to plan a committee calendar and cycle of business.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
The role has reasonable freedom to shape a work plan within the overall strategy of the team or wider College. It requires analytical and evaluative skills to interpret requirements, creativity and initiative to improve delivery of healthcare education, and consultation with finance for any required funding.

Stakeholder groups include:
* Academic relationships: Deputy Director of Education, Academic QA leads, Programme Leads, other academics within the Institute/School or College.
* Professional Services: Programme Administrators, Registry, colleagues in Colleges responsible for evaluation and QA of healthcare education.
* External contacts: NHS education administrators, NHS Clinical education leads, QA contacts at Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies.
