The institution boasts a vibrant and supportive atmosphere, sustained by a large and committed staff of around 300 individuals. We are looking for a dedicated professional to join this established Special Educational Needs (SEN) School team.
Job Purpose
To take responsibility for teaching assistance in order to help promote effective teaching and learning for these students.
Responsibilities
* To have a good working knowledge and understanding of all school policies
* To provide teaching assistance to the teacher as defined according to weekly/daily/sessional planning of the teacher
* To provide group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
* To support the general well being of students within the structure of the school
* To liaise with teachers, care staff, and parents creating an effective team sharing knowledge and information
* To play a leading role in the management of resources within the designated teaching area
* To monitor and evaluate students\' learning under the guidance of the teacher
* To assist teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
* Within the framework of general awareness of student\'s safety and welfare and the school\'s ethos, values and attitudes
* To supervise students in general movement about the school in the classroom or other locations, including Work Experience placements, during toileting, in dining rooms and play areas
