We're recruiting for an experienced Foreman to lead a busy workshop operation in Banbury, Oxfordshire. Key Responsibilities:
As part of this construction and plant hire operation, your role will include:
* Supervising and leading a team of Plant Fitters and workshop personnel
* Scheduling, allocating, and overseeing maintenance, servicing, and repair work across the fleet
* Diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
* Ensuring all equipment meets statutory requirements including LOLER and PUWER
* Completing final quality checks and testing before equipment returns to hire
* Managing workshop stock, parts, tools, and consumables
* Maintaining excellent HSE standards and ensuring full PPE compliance
* Overseeing staff performance, training, rotas, and working hours
* Keeping accurate service records, reports, and safety documentation
* Monitoring costs, downtime, and workshop efficiency for management reporting
What we're looking for:
To succeed as a Foreman, you'll ideally have:
* Previous experience leading a workshop or engineering team
* Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment or plant hire machinery
* A solid understanding of health & safety and compliance standards
* Confident leadership and communication skills
* The ability to plan workloads, manage priorities, and control costs
