-Role Purpose
Performance4Sport is seeking a high-quality, self-employed Sports Therapist or Physiotherapist to deliver evidence-based assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services within a multi-disciplinary performance environment.
The role supports physically active individuals, athletes, and performance clients, with an emphasis on injury management, return-to-performance, and long-term physical development.
This position suits a practitioner who values clinical excellence, professionalism, and integration within a performance-led setting.
Key Responsibilities
-Clinical Delivery
-Deliver high-quality sports therapy / physiotherapy services including:
-Injury assessment and diagnosis (within scope of practice)
-Manual therapy and soft-tissue treatment
-Rehabilitation and return-to-activity programmes
-Strength & conditioning–based rehabilitation where appropriate
-Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records (SOAP notes, rehab plans)
-Ensure best practice aligned with current evidence and professional standards
Athlete & Client Care
-Provide clear communication, education, and guidance to clients
-Work collaboratively with Performance4Sport coaches and practitioners
-Support long-term athlete development and injury-risk reduction strategies
Professional Standards
-Operate fully within professional scope of practice
-Maintain high standards of safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection (UK GDPR)
-Comply with all clinic health & safety procedures and policies
Business & Professional Conduct
-Represent Performance4Sport professionally at all times
-Actively promote the clinic partnership through appropriate social and professional channels
-Maintain professional insurance, qualifications, and CPD requirements
Facilities & Support
The successful practitioner will have access to:
-Fully equipped private treatment clinic
Massage supplies, towels, and laundry services
Clinical documentation and admin systems
Approved treatment modalities
Gym, pool, and spa access at the leisure centre
Marketing support via Performance4Sport platforms
Branded clinic clothing
Essential Criteria
-Degree or recognised qualification in:
Sports Therapy or
Physiotherapy
-Current professional membership (e.g. SST, HCPC, CSP, or equivalent)
-Valid First Aid certification
-Professional indemnity and public liability insurance (minimum £6 million)
-Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
-Ability to work independently within a freelance model
Desirable Criteria
-Experience working with athletic or performance populations
-Strength & Conditioning knowledge or qualifications
-Pitch-side or event-based experience
-Interest in long-term athlete development and performance rehab
-Confidence contributing to a multi-disciplinary environment
Contractual & Commercial Arrangement
-Self-employed / freelance role
-Monthly clinic rental model (details provided upon enquiry)
-Minimum 3-month contractual commitment
-3 months’ notice or rent in lieu required following minimum term
-No employed benefits (this is not an employment role)
