Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position with some travel to offices/clients in Scotland as required.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
In this role, you will design, refine and deliver content that makes services simpler and easier for people to use. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, stakeholders and user-centred design colleagues to ensure content is accurate, accessible and tested with real users. Your work will have a direct impact on the effectiveness of digital services, helping clients achieve their goals while delivering meaningful improvements for citizens.
You’ll be part of an Agile, multidisciplinary team where you’ll own your work, contribute creative ideas, and be supported to continuously improve. You’ll use evidence and user research to refine content, ensuring it not only meets standards but also provides an exceptional experience.
Key responsibilities:
•Draft & design content that is clear, accessible, and aligned with user needs
•Collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs to validate and maintain content
•Ensure content fully aligns with the Digital Scotland Service Standard and accessibility guidelines
•Work with designers to update wireframes and test changes with users
•Use data, analytics and user research to refine and improve content
•Contribute to Agile team delivery, applying iterative and evidence-based approaches
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
To be successful in this role, you should bring proven experience in content design, with strong skills in making complex information simple and accessible. You must have demonstrable knowledge and experience of the Digital Scotland Service Standard and accessibility guidelines, as well as the ability to apply them to real-world digital services. You’ll thrive in collaborative environments, working across teams to create user-centred solutions that meet high standards and deliver measurable impact.
Essential qualifications:
•Demonstrable experience in content design within digital services
•Strong knowledge and experience of the Digital Scotland Service Standard (DSSS)
•Proven experience applying accessibility standards to content design
•Ability to simplify complex processes and language for diverse audiences
•Experience working in Agile teams with iterative delivery methods
•Proficiency in using data and user research to inform content decisions
•Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
