Bookkeeper Part-Time - 2 Days per Week (Office-based)Exeter, Devon£28,000 - £35,000 pro rata + bonus (Dependent on experience)
Our client, a well-established and growing business based on the outskirts of Exeter, is seeking a hands-on Bookkeeper to join them on a permanent basis. This new role has arisen due to continued growth and offers excellent variety, from office administration through to taking ownership of multiple client accounts across a varied portfolio.
Working two days per week, as the Bookkeeper you'll play a key role in managing accounts from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and transparency in financial reporting.
This is a position for someone who enjoys working independently, values getting into the detail, and takes pride in maintaining thorough, well-balanced ledgers, not just relying on automation.
The responsibilities:
* Oversee client bank account management, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations
* Manage income and expenditure across a diverse client portfolio
* Maintain ledgers, input transactions, and handle supplier payments and queries
* Prepare trial balance and year-end reports for clients and their accountants
* Produce monthly management reports and assist with VAT returns
* Support colleagues and clients with clear financial insight and reporting
* Office administration
The candidate:
* Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within a multi-client or portfolio environment
* Confident using both manual processes and cloud-based systems
* AAT Level 4 qualified, studying, or qualified by experience
* Skilled in reconciliations, VAT, trial balance, management reporting, and forecasting
* Methodical, detail-driven, and proactive with a positive, solution-focused approach
