Overview
We are seeking a Biology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school on a long-term temporary basis from October 2025 until December 2025. The successful candidate will teach Biology to Years 8-10, working 3 days per week, and will deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and a passion for science.
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Biology lessons to Years 8-10
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the delivery of the science curriculum
* Assess, record and report on student progress in line with school policies
* Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively following the school's behaviour policy
* Set and mark homework and classwork regularly
* Contribute to departmental meetings, planning and moderation
* Support students in developing their practical and analytical skills
* Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Strong subject knowledge in Biology and General Science
* Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Science
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Biology Teacher
