Medical Law Services have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing Team.
The successful candidate will play akey role in strengthening our clinical negligence case intake process, using their expertise to review case acceptance decisions made by our in‑house nursing team.
You will ensure that all appropriate leads are accurately assessed and accepted, with clear identification of allegations, consideration of limitation issues, and correct determination of defendants. This role is central to maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and legal analysis at the earliest stages of a claim.
You’ll also provideongoing legal support throughout the lifecycle of each case during the MLS process, alongside delivering training, guidance, and constructive feedback to both legal and nursing colleagues — helping to influence best practice and support continuous development across the business.

Main Responsibilities for the role:
19. To review and audit clinical negligence leads which have been vetted by the medical legal team (nurses)
20. To identify on risk assessment and audit the relevant date of knowledge, record on Proclaim and record the reasons why the limitation period has been set to that date.
21. Provide training, guidance and support to Medical Law Services and Fletchers lawyers as necessary.
22. To provide legal guidance to the MLS Teams and where needed assist with case progression.

The ideal candidate will have:
24. Experience of handling clinical negligence claim
25. Excellent attention to detail
26. Excellent case management skills
27. Good knowledge of medical conditions and ability to identify appropriate case categories
28. To have precise and high-level attention to detail
29. Analytical skills and a methodical approach
30. Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards
31. Excellent communication skills
32. Ability to work as a team member and remotely
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
33. Experience of Proclaim or other software tools for example Adobe, Microsoft
