Job Overview
Join a vibrant team to improve and implement care provision for adults with learning disabilities. The assistant psychologist will work under direct supervision of a qualified psychologist, participate in audit, service evaluation, research, and teaching or project work. Specific duties will be based on skills, experience, and service requirements and may vary occasionally as needs change. You will support people with learning disabilities and their carers in the community and within an assessment and treatment inpatient unit. Driving to different locations for work, including home visits and clinical bases, is essential for this role.
Main Duties
* Assist in developing a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service.
* Maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping and report writing in accordance with professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society and Trust policies and procedures.
* Prepare any assessment equipment/materials as required.
* Undertake specific administrative duties as required.
* Engage in continued professional development in line with BPS recommendations to develop skills and competencies that support current duties.
