Your impact
Alongside multiple opportunities for water quality analysts, integrated catchment management specialists, strategic water quality planning specialists and water quality modellers to join our team, we are currently looking for a Hydro‑Ecologist. Bringing new ideas and capabilities, and playing a key role in our continuous unprecedented growth within the water and nature‑based solutions markets, you will be an integral part of cross‑functional project teams, including geomorphologists, hydrologists, and hydro‑geologists. You will be key to the success of high‑profile projects and initiatives to a range of sectors/markets.
Remit of your role will include
* Deliver baseline watercourse characterisation and assessments.
* Coordinate Water Environment EIAR chapters for major infrastructure and flood management projects.
* Check and review Biodiversity Net Gain assessments for watercourses, developing options for enhancements.
* Developing concepts ideas and designs for river restoration.
* Supporting technical delivery projects in liaison with contractors and regulators.
* Field based work including hydrological surveys and monitoring.
* Support project deliver as part of a multi-disciplinary catchment science team.
* Ensure environmental deliverables and financial performance of projects are maintained to a high standard.
* Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the overall integrity of designs.
* Ensuring compliance with H&S regulations and promoting a culture of caring within the team.
Here's what you'll need
* Degree/MSc qualified in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Geography
* Chartered or focussed on achieving Chartered status.
* Have demonstratable experience of working across a number of sectors.
* Have proven track record in delivering technical reviews, able to programme, run and complete high quality environmental assessments.
* Possess an excellent understanding of key environmental legislation, policy and issues, continuously ensuring visibility of emerging strategies to maintain subject matter expertise.
* Possess a collaborative approach to working with and supporting the personal development of colleagues and peers.
