Main duties of the job
We are opening a wonderful new 15-bed service in Chislehurst (opening June 2023) providing specialist residential rehabilitation for adults with an acquired brain injury or long-term neurological condition. We are looking for Senior Rehabilitation Assistants to join our new service and be part of making Chislehurst the best place to work and a provider of dedicated, supportive, and fun care. Job responsibilities
What you'll be working:
* Full Time
* 5 days out of 7
What you'll be doing:
* Supporting our clients with daily activities
* Effectively leading the shift by ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times.
* Supporting their care plans to establish routines
* Ensuring all service users have up-to-date risk assessments and person-centered plans, reviewing and updating as required with the service manager
* Ensuring the client feels safe and stable within their day-to-day care
* Covering all aspects of the support worker role as required to meet the needs of the service
* Being part of the on-call team
* Attending and completing all mandatory training
* Administering medication (if required)
* Supporting service users with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids such as hoists, wheelchairs, and modified bathing equipment
What you'll have:
* Level 3 NVQ or QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care
* Strong organisational, time management, planning, and communication skills
* Flexible, professional, and positive approach to multi-site working
* Sound knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
* Reliable in terms of attendance and timekeeping
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently
* Self-confidence and ability to manage challenging situations
* Ability to respond to employee issues fairly and consistently
