HR Generalist (Temp – Potential Temp to Perm)
Salary: £40,000
Full-time | Office-based | Gosport
We’re looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join a busy HR team on an initial temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent.
This is a hands-on, generalist role with a strong focus on employee relations, talent management, and day-to-day HR operations. You’ll work closely with the HR lead, providing practical support across core HR processes while helping keep everything running smoothly.
Working hours
1. 36.25 hours per week
2. Flexible start between 7.00am – 10.00am and finish between 3.00pm – 6.00pm
3. Ideally happy to work earlier hours initially (around 7–8am start) to support training and handover
4. 45 minutes unpaid lunch per day
Key responsibilities
5. Strong day-to-day focus on employee relations, including disciplinary and investigation support, accurate note-taking, sickness absence management and liaison with Occupational Health.
6. Supporting end-to-end recruitment activity, including interview coordination, new starter paperwork and onboarding
7. Preparing HR documentation, letters and records in line with policy and employment legislation
8. Supporting managers with day-to-day HR queries and process guidance
What we are looking for
9. Previous experience in a generalist HR or HR Advisor role
10. Strong recruitment and onboarding experience
11. Confidence supporting employee relations processes, including disciplinaries and investigations
12. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
13. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and juggling multiple priorities
14. Approachable, professional and able to build effective working relationships at all levels
15. Confident IT user with experience of HR systems and MS Office
